Remagen - Germany
Cologne - Germany |
The contact with the Pro Musica Choir came about when the Secretary of this Choir made contact with our Conductor. They had been given his address by the Town Clerk, at a meeting with his opposite number in Soest which had been twinned with Bangor, as a result the Secretary and the writer eventually made arrangements for our choir to visit Soest. While there we visited the famous Mohne Dam of DAM BUSTERS Film. We then journeyed to Remagen and sang in the Concert Hall and we visited the site of the famous Rhine Bridge which was crippled by the American Army and eventually collapsed. We also visited Cologne. |
Ontario - Canada
Niagara Falls-Canada |
During our trip to Canada we sang in many concerts throughout our ten day stay, but found time to visit many places of interest around Toronto such as the Niagara Falls, which impressed everyone, we also visited the CN. Tower the Eaton Center and other places of Interest around Toronto. We met many Welsh people living in Toronto and the surrounding area and brought back many recollections of Wales to those who had left their homeland many years ago but still spoke Welsh and sang their favorite songs.

Soll - Austria |
Our trip to Austria was the result of an association established between ourselves and the "KUFSTEINER SINGERS", an old established mixed choir from Kufstein which lies on the border Between Austria and Bavaria. We sang to a capacity audience of locals and visitors in the beautiful Baroque Church of Söll where we were staying, then another Concert with our hosts In Thiersee noted for its Passion Play as is Oberammergau. We are planning to return to Austria in 2001. |
Malta
Cathedral of St John Valetta - Malta |
Malta was also a success with concerts on the neighbouring Island of Gozo in the parish church of Mellieha and the Anglican Cathedral of Valletta We enjoyed the visit as the weather was very good and the Boat trip to Gozo was something different.

Kourion - Cyprus
Kourion - Cyprus |
The visit to the Kourion near Limasol was one of the highlights of our trip to the island. With the concert in the open air and an audience of over 2000 people, quite an experience. We sang songs from our own repertoire and we also sang Morte Criste with the Band of the Royal Logistic Corps, and the King's Own Scottish Pipes and Drums. Our final concert in Cyprus was at our hotel at Laura Beach hotel at Paphos. |
Londonderry |
We have also travelled to Londonderry in Northern Ireland and sang at the Guildhall. We were entertained by Irish Musicians who performed traditional Irish folk Music. |
